Graham Alan Gooch is an all-time England hero who played 118 Tests for his country, 34 as captain.
He smashed 8,900 runs (still 2nd on his country’s list), averaged 42.58 and hit 20 hundreds in the process, including 333 v India at Lord’s in 1990.
Gooch finished his career with a staggering 44,846 first-class runs!
