Middlesex batsman Andy Balbirnie is set to miss most of the 2016 domestic season with a hip injury.
The 25-year-old requires surgery on his right hip to correct issues within the joint after experiencing pain on Ireland duty.
Balbirnie will undergo surgery in the next fortnight and is expected to be sidelined for four to five months.
A Middlesex statement said: “Everyone at the club would like to wish Andy a speedy recovery.”
