Pakistan caused an upset in the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 by edging out hosts India by two runs on the Duckworth-Lewis method in Delhi.
India, having lost the toss, crawled to seven for two after the six-over powerplay before upping the tempo slightly to post 96 for seven.
Pakistan appeared to be cruising to victory with only 31 runs required off 48 balls with seven wickets remaining, but India applied the pressure and back-to-back run-outs left the game in the balance.
However, with 20 needed from 24 deliveries, the rain arrived with Pakistan two runs ahead on D/L.
India’s next game is against England in Dharamsala on Tuesday.
