Shaw joins Glamorgan coaching set-up

Glamorgan have added ex-player Adrian Shaw to their coaching staff.

Shaw, a County Championship winner with the Welsh county in 1997, will work with Glamorgan’s first team, second XI and academy squad.

Glamorgan chief executive Hugh Morris said: “Adrian has been working with the players on our development programme since September and his infectious attitude and approach has been a positive influence.

“Following Robert Croft’s appointment as head coach last month, we identified an opportunity to add to our coaching set-up to help raise the standard of batting and wicketkeeping at all levels on the club’s performance pathway.

“Adrian’s coaching and playing experience fits the bill, so we’re pleased to extend his role to work with our squad and emerging players.”

Shaw, a former wicketkeeper-batsman, said: “I’m really pleased to increase my involvement with Glamorgan and support the current coaching team of Robert Croft, Steve Watkin, David Harrison and Richard Almond.

“As far as I’m concerned this will always be my club and I’ve enjoyed being back working with the players on the development programme over the winter.

“There’s some good young players coming through, so to build on this and help their development towards the first team is great news.”
