Taylor helps Windies edge past Pakistan

Stafanie Taylor top-scored with 40 as West Indies claimed a four-run victory over Pakistan in their ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Group B opener.

The Windies captain led from the front, hitting five boundaries in her knock, but Anam Amin’s four-wicket haul restricted the Windies to 103 for eight off their 20 overs.

After Javeria Khan retired hurt after four balls of the chase, Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof scored 20 and 22 respectively but a low run-rate and Anisa Mohammed’s 3-25 left Pakistan needing 12 runs off the final over.

But Pakistan, who play England in their final group match, fell short as West Indies held on for victory.
