Half-centuries from Quinton de Kock and JP Duminy saw South Africa beat hosts India by four runs in their ICC World Twenty20 warm-up.
De Kock smashed 56 off 33 balls before retiring out and Duminy thrashed 67 from 44 deliveries in a Proteas total of 196 for eight.
Shikhar Dhawan responded with 73 at the top of the India order, and Suresh Raina compiled 41 from 26 balls.
Both retired out, but despite the best efforts of Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni India came up short.
Needing 14 from the final over, they could manage just 10 off all-rounder Chris Morris.
