Tammy Beaumont’s half-century laid the platform for England women to complete a warm-up double over New Zealand with a 20-run victory ahead of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20.
Having won a last-ball thriller by four wickets when the two sides met yesterday, England found the going tougher in this Chennai rematch as off-spinner Leigh Kasperek took 4-12 and Felicity Leydon-Davis grabbed 3-19 with her medium pace.
But despite being bowled out for 126 with four balls unused, Mark Robinson’s side had enough runs on the board as Jenny Gunn took 4-12 to help bowl out the White Ferns for 106.
