Former Leicestershire all-rounder Shiv Thakor has become the third player in as many days to sign a contract extension at Derbyshire.
The 22-year-old has followed in the footsteps of Tom Taylor and Wayne Madsen and extended his stay at the 3aaa County Ground, by a year to keep him tied down until the end of the 2017 campaign.
Thakor made the switch to Derbyshire from Grace Road in September 2014 and was the Falcons’ top wicket-taker in both limited-overs competition in his first season at the club.
Elite performance director Graeme Welch said: “Shiv is another exciting young talent we have at the club, who has already shown the ability to positively impact games.
“He’s a versatile player who is constantly improving his game. He now has a big summer ahead to build on the experiences of 2015 and the hard work he has put in over the winter.”
Ex-England Under-19 international Thakor added: “I’m thrilled to sign a new deal at Derbyshire. Graeme and his coaching team have been great since I joined and I feel my game will only improve under them.
“I’m looking forward to what is a big year for the club and I hope I can consistently contribute towards positive team performances in all formats.”
