India Women have retained the squad that won a historic T20I series against Australia recently for the Women’s World Twenty20 which starts in India from March 15. The team will be captained by Mithali Raj.
In January, the 15-member squad, led by Raj, had achieved their first bilateral series win over Australia Women in any format, claiming the three-match series 2-1. This included a record chase of 141 – their highest ever in a T20 international – in the first match of the series in Adelaide.
India are in Group B of the 10-team Women’s World T20, along with England, West Indies, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The hosts will kick off their tournament against Bangladesh Women on March 15 in Bangalore.
