Masakadza stars as Zimbabwe draw series

Hamilton Masakadza blasted an unbeaten 93 as Zimbabwe secured a 2-2 draw in their Twenty20 series with Bangladesh with a 18-run win in Khulna.

The opening batsman smashed eight fours and five sixes to lift the tourists, who kept the series alive on Wednesday, to an imposing 180 for four after opting to make first use.

Masakadza’s knocks of 79, 30, 20 and now 93 make it a world record for the amount of runs scored in a T20 bilateral series.

He also shared stands of 80 and 61 with Richmond Mutumbami and Malcolm Waller, who made 32 and 36 respectively.

Despite 54 from Mahmudullah, Bangladesh failed to recover from trouble at 53 for five and were dismissed for 162 in 19 overs.

Neville Madziva took 4-34 and Tendai Chisoro returned 3-17.
