After the third Test at the iconic Lord’ Cricket Ground in London concluded on Monday, July 14, the Indian cricket team had a couple of days of rest. They resumed practice on Thursday, preparing for the fourth Test which takes place at Old Trafford, Manchester, starting next week.

In a viral video on social media, RevSportz journalist Rohit Juglan mentioned that the Indian players were listening to the “Hanuman Chalisa,” the Hindu devotional hymn praising Lord Hanuman, in the dressing room, before getting started with the training session.

India lost the third Test by just 22 runs against Ben Stokes and Co. to go down 1-2 in the five-match series. Seeking blessings from Lord Hanuman was a great way to start the preparations ahead of the Manchester Test as India look to restore parity in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

The Men in Blue have given a good account of themselves in the series so far. Under new captain Shubman Gill, not many cricket enthusiasts gave India a chance against an experienced England side. India also had to deal with the retirements of stalwarts like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. However, the youngsters who have come into the side have shown a lot of promise in the first three matches.

Former India head coach Ravi Shastri said in a recent interview that India could have been 3-0 up in the series had a little bit of luck been on their side.

Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh suffered an injury to his bowling hand while bowling on Thursday. He was seen wearing a bandage on his hand after practice. The Punjab seamer could be in for a call-up if India decide to rest Jasprit Bumrah in Manchester. Mohammed Siraj has also played all three Tests and could be in line to get a breather. However, as India are trailing 1-2 in the series, they would want to head into the Manchester Test with their best XI.
