The Southpaw also spoke about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and revealed how the team has been managing the 15-year-old boy wonder after his recent call-up to the senior team post the phenomenal batting performances in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, U-19 World Cup, and also in List A matches.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi earned his maiden call for the India National Cricket Team for his exceptional run in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals (RR). “It’s our responsibility to make him comfortable”- Abhishek Sharma on making Vaibhav Sooryavanshi adjust to the senior side

Abhishek Sharma, while speaking to the reporters, highlighted Vaibhav’s enthusiastic desire to learn from the senior cricketers and also revealed that the coach and the whole team are doing everything possible to help him settle into the dressing room.

“As a team, I think it’s our responsibility to make him comfortable. And obviously he is a young guy and what I felt, he is very curious to play all the time. He is just learning right now.”

“He asks questions, so I feel he has that in himself, where he wants to learn a lot of things, and obviously it’s a dream for him too. So we are trying our best to make him feel that he belongs in the group,” Abhishek told reporters after the first T20I.

Will Vaibhav Sooryavanshi make his debut on Sunday?

His exclusion remained a major talking issue as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi failed to make his senior international debut following his impressive performances in recent months. The Men in Blue continued with their opening combination of Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, who led them to the T20 World Cup victory.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been in the headlines for the past few months, and posts after the 94 runs innings of 29 deliveries in the List A Tri-Series final against the Sri Lanka A National Cricket Team. His much-anticipated debut for the senior team did not happen on Friday; however, it is expected to occur on Sunday for the final T20I.
