The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 has only just begun, but it has already turned the rankings upside down. Some of the biggest names in women’s cricket have made huge gains after brilliant performances, while a few stars have slipped after disappointing starts.
West Indies captain Hayley Matthews made the headlines in the updated ICC T20I Rankings. Matthews is back at the top of the ICC Women’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings. India’s Deepti Sharma also made a huge rise after her stunning performance against Pakistan.
Hayley Matthews reclaims No. 1 All-Rounder spot; Melie Kerr slips after poor start at ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026
Matthews delivered a match-winning performance during West Indies’ seven-wicket victory over New Zealand at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. She played a brilliant knock of 48 runs and also dismissed White Ferns superstar Sophie Devine to make huge gains in the rankings.
That performance helped Hayley Matthews reclaim the No. 1 all-rounder spot from New Zealand’s Melie Kerr. The fight between Matthews and Kerr has been very close for a long time, but the West Indies all-rounder has now overtaken the New Zealander in the T20I rankings.
The main reason behind losing the top spot was Kerr went wicketless and managed only five runs against the West Indies in their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 clash.
Deepti Sharma and Kathryn Bryce make big gains in all-rounder rankings
Speaking about India, Deepti Sharma’s brilliant five-wicket spell against Pakistan pushed her up to third place in the T20I all-rounder rankings. Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce also enjoyed a memorable rise after her impressive performance against Ireland.
Bryce moved back into the top 10 all-rounders. On the other hand, England spinner Linsey Smith remains the world’s number one bowler in the ICC T20I rankings. Young Indian spinner Shree Charani has climbed five places to reach No. 2 and now just needs one great show to overtake Smith.
Deepti Sharma also jumped to the fifth place in the bowlers’ rankings. Well, New Zealand fast bowler Jess Kerr also climbed six places to 16th. Scotland’s Katherine Fraser moved up six spots to 28th, while Kathryn Bryce surged 15 places to reach joint 42nd.
Georgia Voll continues to enjoy No.1 batter’s status
There have been only minor changes in the batting rankings. South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has moved up to second place after her 44-run knock against Australia. Australia’s Georgia Voll continues to lead the batting charts, while Phoebe Litchfield has entered the top 10 after scoring an impressive half-century against South Africa.
England batter Danni Wyatt has also enjoyed a big jump after her brilliant century against Sri Lanka, reaching a new career-best ranking at 14th place in the rankings.
Indian star Smriti Mandhana remains at the fifth place in the ICC T20I Batting Rankings, while Shafali Varman is ranked seventh. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur slipped to 11th place. Jemimah Rodrigues also dropped to the 13th place in the updated T20I rankings.
