The Ranji Trophy 2025-26 final turned heated when Jammu and Kashmir captain Paras Dogra got into a fiery on-field clash with the Karnataka fielder Aneesh KV, forcing captain Mayank Agarwal to step in and calm things down at the KSCA Hubli Cricket Ground on February 25.

Lucky boundary sparks big drama in Ranji Trophy Final

The drama started just after a tense escape in the 100th over of Jammu and Kashmir’s innings. Karnataka pacer Prasidh Krishna bowled a sharp delivery at 140.5 kph. The ball was slightly short and aimed at the middle and off stump.

It straightened a little after pitching and surprised Paras Dogra. Dogra tried to defend but did not connect properly. The ball took a thick outside edge and flew towards the gully.

But then whatever happened shocked everyone. As Dogra stood at the crease, a few words were exchanged between him and a close-in fielder standing under the helmet at silly point. The chat quickly turned heated. Both players looked angry. The situation started getting out of control.

At that point, Karnataka captain Mayank Agarwal stepped in to try to cool tempers. However, the argument continued for a few moments before the umpires stepped in. Dogra and Aneesh were instantly separated by the players and umpires in Hubli.

The umpires were later seen speaking with the Karnataka batter Devdutt Padikkal as well, warning the fielding side about maintaining discipline during the Ranji Trophy final clash.

Later, Dogra apologised to Aneesh, but the substitute fielder did not want to accept his apology. Even the umpire tried to explain the situation to him and calm him down.
