Jasprit Bumrah scolds Axar Patel before IND vs PAK clash; Snapchat drama from India camp goes viral

Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah were involved in a hilarious social media fun moment just before India’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Namibia on February 12 in Delhi. Axar Patel ended up getting scolded by senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah, and the video went viral online.

Jasprit Bumrah jokes about Axar Patel’s Snapchat obsession

Axar, who was spending time learning Snapchat tricks from the younger players like Arshdeep Singh, was pulled up by Bumrah. The senior fast bowler was reportedly not impressed that Axar was picking up social media habits from the youngsters instead of focusing on serious preparation.

Bumrah said in the viral video, “Ye pata nahi bachho ke sath rehkar snapchatter bane jaa raha hain. Usne saalon me kabhi nahi kiya aur abhi kar raha hai ye sab bakwas. (I don’t know why he is becoming a Snapchatter after spending time with the youngsters. He never did all this in so many years, and now suddenly he is doing all this nonsense.”

The ace Indian pacer has even jokingly asked Axar’s fans on Snapchat not to hear anything from the all-rounder. And Axar was like, “It’s okay,” though he was not amused by the Bumrah class.

Arshdeep Singh, who is quite active on Snapchat, added more fun to the situation by posting videos where he teased Axar about getting scolded. He jokingly asked Axar about the scolding from Bumrah.

Bumrah said, “Paaji, Jassi bhai se daant pad gai apko. (Brother, why did you get scolded by Jassi Bhai?)

Axar shared that Bumrah had questioned him about learning such things from the younger boys. It was a classic senior-versus-junior moment, but all in good spirit. The fun exchange quickly went viral on social media.

The all-rounder added, “Tabhi aapko message kiya na. Woh keh rahe the baccho se ye kya sikh rahe ho. Ye wo…” (That’s why I messaged you. He was telling me what I was learning from the kids.”

To which, Arshdeep said, “Dil bacha hona chahiye (The heart must be like a child),” and Axar agreed to it and asked the young teammate to teach some Snapchat tricks to Bumrah.

Jasprit Bumrah’s yorker sparks panic in the India camp

Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team had a worrying moment during practice ahead of their second Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2026 against Namibia. Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan was hit on the toe while batting in the nets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The 27-year-old was facing Jasprit Bumrah when a sharp yorker crashed into his toe. Ishan immediately looked in pain and went down on the ground. Team physios quickly came to check on him as other players watched. Photos of the incident went viral online, leaving fans concerned.

There is no official update yet from the BCCI, but journalists present at the ground have said that the injury does not appear serious. It seems to be more of a painful blow than a major problem. It is also being said that Sanju Samson and Bumrah could return to the playing XI against Namibia.
