Jack Edwards grabs one of the greatest catches in BBL history to dismiss Finn Allen off Mitchell Starc

Jack Edwards has stunned one and all with his remarkable fielding in the Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) Final between the Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers at the Perth Stadium in Perth.

In the 9th over of the Perth Scorchers’ chase, the Sydney Sixers senior fast bowler Mitchell Starc bowled a full ball outside the off stump to Finn Allen. The New Zealander went for a strong drive but did not keep the shot low. The ball went fast towards the extra-cover area.

Jack Edwards reacted instantly, as he dove to his right, stretched his hand in the air, and took an unbelievable catch while he was still in the air. The ball was travelling very fast, but Edwards timed his jump perfectly and held on as Allen walked back to the dugout after scoring 36 runs from 22 balls.

Even though this wicket came a little late for the Sixers, the catch taken by Edwards was absolutely amazing, which is certainly one of the best catches of the Big Bash League.
