Jordan sticks with Sussex

England seamer Chris Jordan has agreed a new one-year contract extension which will keep him at Sussex until the end of the 2017 campaign.

The 27-year-old arrived at the County Ground from Surrey in 2013 and has gone on to represent England in all formats.

In 27 Specsavers County Championship outings for the south coast side, Jordan has claimed 110 wickets although he could not prevent them being relegated to Division Two last season.

Jordan, who is currently in Mumbai preparing for the ICC World Twenty20, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be extending my contract to stay longer at a club that I have grown to love and one that now feels like home.

“I’m looking forward to putting in my best performances on the pitch, helping Sussex back into Division One and back to winning trophies.”

Sussex head coach Mark Davis added: “CJ is a vital member of our team and balances us in all formats of the game.

“His all-round ability as a fast bowler, destructive batsman and brilliant catcher makes him a key member of our team at Sussex.

“I’m thrilled he has extended his contract and look forward to him making vital contributions to winning games for the club.”
