Queensland’s clash with Tasmania delayed by a day pending health advice from the Queensland government after a number of Covid-19 cases were reported in the state

The start of the Sheffield Shield clash between Queensland and Tasmania has been delayed by a day due to a number of Covid-19 cases in Queensland, with the match hanging on the health advice of the Queensland government.

Queensland was due to host Tasmania at Ian Healy Oval starting at 10am on Tuesday but the match was postponed shortly before 9.30am.

Queensland Cricket released a statement on social media on behalf of Cricket Australia.

“Cricket Australia advises that day one of the Sheffield Shield match between Queensland and Tasmania, due to be played today, has been postponed,” the statement said.

“The match will now begin on Wednesday, September 29, subject to public health conditions.”
