Sikandar Raza gritted his way through the first session of the final day in Bulawayo, but two wickets at the other end dented Zimbabwe’s hopes of saving this Test. Raza went to lunch on 85 not out, and with a wicket apiece for Shannon Gabriel and Devendra Bishoo, Zimbabwe were 199 for 6 at the interval, 77 runs ahead. Raza survived an lbw decision given against him and a withering blow to the knee, cobbling together an unbroken 27-run stand with Regis Chakabva to keep Zimbabwe afloat.
