Masakdza stabilises Zimbabwe after Gabriel-Roach burst

Toss Zimbabwe chose to bat v West Indies
Live scorecard and ball-by-ball details

Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer won the toss and opted to bat first on a cold, damp morning in Bulawayo. Zimbabwe made two changes to their playing XI, swapping fast bowler Kyle Jarvis and allrounder Sean Williams for PJ Moor and Tendai Chisoro, who will be making his Test debut.

The changes were forced ones for Zimbabwe, Williams sitting out as he is unwell, while Jarvis is nursing an ankle injury. Zimbabwe had been monitoring the injury in the days before the game, and took a call on the morning of the match.

The pitch also suggested that an extra spinner might not be the worst move for Zimbabwe, with bare patches that will take increasing turn as the match wears on. It is a different track to that used for the first Test, but seems of much the same character, and possibly even drier, despite the rain that has been around.

West Indies, however, stuck with the same playing XI from the first match.

West Indies: Kraigg Brathwaite, Kieran Powell, Kyle Hope Shai Hope, Jermaine Blackwood, Roston Chase, Shane Dowrich (wk), Jason Holder (c), Devendra Bishoo, Kemar Roach, Shannon Gabriel

Zimbabwe: Solomon Mire, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendon Taylor, Craig Ervine, Peter Moor, Sikandar Raza, Malcolm Waller, Regis Chakabva (wk), Graeme Cremer(c), Tendai Chisoro, Christopher Mpofu
