Hogg: De Villiers has not looked sharp

Virat Kohli won the toss, and Royal Challengers Bangalore batted first on a sweltering afternoon. It was a slightly surprising decision, but both captains said they wanted to bat first. Kohli said he did so because bowling and fielding would have been really challenging in that heat. Also, both matches Royal Challengers have won this season have been while batting first. The previous time they played an afternoon game at Wankhede, they scored 235 for 1 batting first.

Rohit Sharma said would have batted too as he wanted to change things up a little after having had success chasing. He was forced to make one change, with Harbhajan Singh sitting out with an injury and Karn Sharma replacing him.

Royal Challengers made three changes. Shane Watson, Mandeep Singh and Aniket Choudhary replaced Samuel Badree, Sachin Baby and Stuart Binny.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: 1 Virat Kohli (capt.), 2 Mandeep Singh, 3 AB de Villiers, 4 Travis Head, 5 Shane Watson, 6 Kedar Jadhav (wk), 7 Pawan Negi, 8 Adam Milne 9 S Aravind, 10 Yuzvendra Chahal, 11 Aniket Choudhary
