Doug Bollinger bowled New South Wales to a 225-run win on the fourth day at the Gabba, where Queensland folded with little fight in their chase of 365. Bollinger, who had been a mid-match replacement for Mitchell Starc, picked up 4 for 32, while Trent Copeland and Test squad members Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Lyon each collected two wickets.

The Bulls began the morning on 1 for 51 after Burns and Khawaja gave them a solid start on the third evening, but only one run had been added to the overnight total when Khawaja was out hooking off Bollinger for 12. In the very next over Burns was also out hooking, caught behind off Hazlewood for 30, to cap off a week in which he was overlooked for Test selection.

From then on there was little resistance from Queensland, with Michael Neser (28) the only other batsman to reach 20. Neser was the last man out as the Bulls were skittled for 139.
