New Zealand played two warm-up games in Mumbai on March 10 and 12 followed by their opening fixture against India at Nagpur on March 15. They then travelled up north to Dharamsala to play Australia on March 18 before meeting Pakistan on March 22 at Chandigarh. (World T20: England Face New Zealand)

From Chandigarh, the Black Caps flew down to the eastern part of India to Kolkata for their last game against Bangladesh on March 26 before landing in Delhi yesterday evening.

In contrast, England played their warm-up as well as first two group league games in Mumbai and then travelled to Delhi, where they played the next two league games and will now be playing the semi-finals. In all England have been in Delhi for 11 days.

Williamson was asked the question about their travel schedule compared to England and there was laughter all around as the soft-spoken New Zealand skipper displayed his sense of humour.

“It’s great that we have been able to see more of India than most opposition sides! It’s one of those things. Surely it happened just by coincidence. Guys embraced that. They embraced the flights and embraced the variety of hotels,” Williamson said, the sarcasm in his answer was not lost on anyone.
