The Indian fans were biting their nails during Wednesday’s World T20 match against Bangladesh, which was won after some heart-stopping moments by the narrow margin of one run.

A fan club for Virat Kohli ,who scored 24 of 24 balls, has posted a video that adds a whole different reason to cheer.

The stadium at Bangalore was chanting Kohli’s name while he was fielding.

The 27-year-old cupped his hand to his ear to indicate he’d like a little more volume, please. And he gestured to “India” written on his shirt, urging the fans to switch to shouting “India” rather than his name.

India pulled off a one-run win against a tenacious Bangladesh in a thrilling match, keeping their hopes of ICC World T20 glory alive.

India were restricted to 146 for seven after being sent in to bat at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, thanks to some spirited Bangladesh bowling.

Bangladesh came tantalisingly close to chasing down the total, but poor shots and three critical dismissals by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni eventually saw the home side scramble home by the slimmest of margins.

India’s group stage victory bolsters their chances of reaching the semi-finals, but they must now defeat Australia on Sunday to secure a place in the final four.
