Rashid and Roy lead England to victory

A superb spell of bowling from Adil Rashid and Jason Roy’s half-century ensured England kicked off their ICC World Twenty20 campaign with a six-wicket warm-up win against New Zealand in Mumbai.

Kane Williamson had got the Black Caps off to a flyer after they won the toss and chose to bat, but leg-spinner Rashid grabbed 3-15 from four tidy overs to restrict them to 169 for eight.

Roy and Alex Hales added 77 for the first wicket, the Surrey man dominating the scoring with 55 off 36 balls, and although they fell, Jos Buttler guided England over the line with four balls to spare as he smashed 24 off nine balls.
