Netherlands eliminated after washout

The ICC World Twenty20 Group A match between Netherlands and Oman was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain in Dharamsala.

The chances of play looked slim when the heavens opened this morning, but after a slight change in weather both captains walked out for the toss which Oman won, opting to bowl.

With the start of play delayed, further showers then ruled out the prospect of any play.

The result means the Netherlands are officially out of the tournament, with Oman topping the group on three points. Ireland play Bangladesh in the later fixture, with the Irish needing a win to stay in the competition.
