India’s team balance was on show during the recent Asia Cup Twenty20 in Bangladesh. Skipper MS Dhoni raved about his bowlers during the Asia Cup. While the World T20 is expected to remain a batsman’s game, Dhoni knows how important the bowlers can be.
India’s batting depth is well known. Even through Ashish Nehra or a Jasprit Bumrah has excelled in different conditions, Dhoni wants more options in the pace battery. The good news is that Mohammed Shami, who has won Dhoni a few games, is fit and raring to go.
Mohammed Shami is in India’s 15-man squad for the World T20 and the Bengal seamer will use the advantage of home conditions at Eden Gardens to demonstrate that he is alive and kicking. India will play a second warm-up match against South Africa in Mumbai on Saturday.

The West Indies will be desperate to get some match practice. They are a squad full of T20 journeymen who crisscross the world to help teams win tournaments. The West Indies will do well to play as a team, something that has been missing for years now.
Yet, the Calypso charmers like Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo and skipper Darren Sammy can be match-winners on their day. The West Indies won the T20 World Cup in 2012 in England.
