Earlier Mumbai, who did not enforce follow on and resumed on Wednesday at their overnight second innings score of 2 for 1, were shot out for 182 in 51.2 overs – mainly by the efforts of spin-pace combine of Jayant Yadav (4 for 93) and Jaydev Unadkat (3 for 16).

Jay Bista, who notched up his maiden first class hundred in the first innings, made 38, Suryakumar Yadav got 49 in 76 balls and Siddhesh Lad top-scored with 60, his second half century of the match, in 109 balls.

Fazal and Chatterjee, both of whom struck four fours, added 34 runs for the unbroken second wicket when the day’s play drew to a close.
