Australia levelled the three-match T20 series against South Africa with a five-wicket win from the last ball of the match in Johannesburg. A record fourth-wicket stand of 161 between David Warner and Glenn Maxwell powered the Australia chase but it was left to Mitchell Marsh to hit two off Kagiso Rabada’s final ball to seal victory.

South Africa’s total of 204 for 7 had been based around 79 from captain Faf du Plessis. He helped take 26 off the final over of their innings to set Australia a stiff target, one which looked even more distant when Rabada and the returning Dale Steyn helped reduce Australia to 32 for 3.
