Oman’s captain Sultan Ahmed won the toss and chose to field in a must-win encounter against United Arab Emirates in Dhaka.

Entering the last match of the qualifying group, three teams are vying for one spot in the main competition. UAE seal their berth with a win. Oman, who have two points in two games, need to win to ensure a three-way tie, which will be decided on net run-rate. Earlier, Afghanistan won their final group match against Hong Kong to keep their qualification hopes alive.

UAE made one change to the side that beat Hong Kong, bringing in medium-pacer Qadeer Ahmed for left-arm spinner Farhan Ahmed. Oman made two changes. Batsman Vaibhav Wategaonkar was replaced by Aaqib Sulehri and Ajay Lalcheta was left out for Sufyan Mehmood.
