Sri Lanka Under-19s won the toss and inserted India Under-19s into bat on an overcast morning with a pitch that had a tinge of grass, in the semi-finals of the Under-19 World Cup.

Charith Asalanka, who said they have done well when bowling first, made one change to the side that beat England in the quarter-finals, bringing in fast bowler Lahiru Kumara for Charana Nanayakkara.

India fielded an unchanged side to the team that convincingly beat Namibia U-19 in the quarter-finals.
